The Prakasam Barrage is named after Tanguturi Prakasam, a former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. It spans over 1.2 kilometres and has 56 radial gates that can be lifted during flood seasons to control water flow. Bhavani Island is about 4km from Vijayawada Bus Station, 3.5km from Vijayawada railway station, and 1.7 km from Durga Ghat to Punnami Ghat. We must reach Punnami Ghat. Entry ticket is Rs 10 /-. To get to the island by boat, charges are Rs 100 per adult, Rs 70 per child. You must reach Punnami Ghat before 4:30 pm; the boating ticket counter will close by 5:00 pm. AP Tourism is converting this 133-acre (54 hectare) island into an attractive tourist spot and a River Front Resort. The Goa-based Champions Yacht Club operates the floating restaurant on the river. Many adventure games and other activities take place in this place. Water sports mainly include speeding boats, jet skis, banana boats, bumper boats, pedal boats, zorbing, water rides, and others. Various packages are available for the visitors. The package is Rs. 300, including a ride in a water roller, rifle shooting, archery, low rope course, wine traverse, zip line, climbing wall and spider web.
